What to Expect
Our goal is to guide you through this process with compassion and understanding, ensuring that it is as smooth and comforting as possible for both you and your cherished pet.
Upon your arrival, a caring team member will escort you to our dedicated comfort room. Here, they will take the time to discuss the options for your appointment, walk you through the procedure, and address any questions or concerns you may have.
In the comfort room, we will review the consent form together, ensuring that all of your wishes are clearly understood. You are welcome to remain with your pet throughout the process; however, we also understand how difficult this can be. Whether you choose to stay or leave your pet in our care, we will respect your decision. Our team is here to provide compassionate support, honouring whatever choice feels right for you.
After saying your goodbyes, a team member can assist you to your car as we prepare your pet for the aftercare option of your choosing. If you need further assistance, such as help with transportation or simply a moment to gather yourself, please don’t hesitate to let us know. Your comfort and peace of mind are our top priorities.
Once the aftercare arrangements are confirmed, we will briefly take your pet to the treatment area to place an intravenous catheter (IV catheter), which allows for a smooth and gentle process.
When your pet returns to the comfort room, the veterinarian may administer a light sedative to relieve any stress or discomfort. You are encouraged to take as much time as you need with your pet. When you are ready, the veterinarian will compassionately carry out the procedure.
